Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms who read Variety Lifestyle!
We love you guys and wanted to share a nice story with you. It’s the story of Jola & Amelia. Jola’s mother Amelia was diagnosed with cancer in 2003. Now of course this would be devastating to any family but Amelia was a fighter and decided that soon after the diagnosis she wouldn’t eat anything that wasn’t grown directly in the ground. Living on a farm, she grew her own organic vegetables and fruits. As she regained her health she started craving the sweet snacks she used to eat. Using only plant-based ingredients she created the first Macrobar.
At the time, Amelia’s daughter, Jola Sonkin, was working as a teacher in Chicago. When she first tasted her mothers’ creation, she knew they were too good not to share and began selling them at a small health food store near her school.
Fast forward to today and GoMacro is one of the top-selling national nutrition bar companies in the United States. Their favorite product testers are still Jola’s brutally honest young children. All GoMacro products are Certified C.L.E.A.N. and R.A.W., USDA-Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, Gluten-Free certified, 100% Vegan, and soy-free. Their farm remains an integral part of their culture and they continue to make all GoMacro products under their own roof in Wisconsin. They hope that all of us will join them in the pursuit of thoughtful food choices that nourish, sustain, and taste delicious!
You can find more info on all of their social media at: @gomacro
They were kind enough to send us some of their Thrive and GoMacro bars to try out and we loved them! Our favorite was the almond apricot Thrive bar. You can tell they are good quality and definitely healthy. Try them out for yourself at www.gomacro.com.
